About Marie
Marie is a Director based at the Nottingham office, where she joined in March 2020.
She has been a qualified solicitor since 2012 and has over 14 years experience of working within legal practices. She deals with a mix of Private Client work, covering Wills, Estate and Trust administration, tax advice and powers of attorney and wealth protection, and has experience in drafting Wills for clients with assets held abroad and dealing with estates which include foreign assets.
Marie has experience in providing succession advice to business owners and administering estates where claims for Business Relief are required and creating trusts in Wills to protect assets from care fees.

Advising on an estate with assets located in Hungary and the UK, dealing with issues regarding the domicile of the deceased and associated Inheritance Tax implications arising from that along with advising on the legality of a homemade Will which had been invalidated by the Hungarian Courts but remained valid in England.
Liaising with clients as to the implications of a claim for Business Relief where the majority of the assets within the deceased’s company were held as cash.
Drafting English Wills for clients with properties owned in the UK and France, ensuring that there would be no conflict between the 2 jurisdictions and the Wills.
Obtaining Letters of Administration for clients who had previously made attempts themselves to do so and who had instructed 3 different solicitors to obtain a Grant in England, all of whom had been unsuccessful. The deceased was domiciled in the Ukraine but resident in Monaco and liaising between lawyers in the Ukraine and Monaco was required before the Grant was issued.
