Insight day – first-year students
We have developed an exciting new fast-track opportunity for first-year students to apply to join Freeths for an insight day at one of three offices (Nottingham, Oxford or Leeds) to take place week commencing 8 April 2025. A number of these students will then be offered a further opportunity to return to Freeths in their second year of university to complete a week-long work experience placement with us. In the final year of university, those students who have excelled will be offered a training contract to undertaking a traineeship with us leading to qualification as a solicitor.
This is a unique opportunity to learn about law and gain an insight into how Freeths can support you with building a successful career within the law.
Give yourself the best beginning and kick-start your journey with Freeths.
One week of work experience – second-year students
We have an exciting opportunity for second-year law students to spend a week in one of our Freeths offices, to complete valuable work experience and gain an insight into what life is like at a leading national law firm. At Freeths we recognise the important role that work experience plays in developing the skills, knowledge and experience of individuals looking to start or progress their career within the legal industry. Therefore, those students who excel on our holiday work experience scheme, will be offered a training contract to undertake a traineeship with us leading to qualification as a solicitor.
Please note that this year's work experience will run weeks commencing 7 and 14 July 2025.
We will accommodate a limited number of week-long placements in our offices each year. We try to meet the location preferences of each candidate, but this may not always be possible.
This is a unique opportunity to learn about the law and gain insight into how Freeths can support you to build a successful career within the law.
Equal opportunities & diversity
At Freeths, we are proud to be nationally recognised as an equal opportunities employer. Our recent win of Firm of the Year at the UK Diversity Legal Awards is proof of our dedication. We won’t discriminate against you – directly or indirectly – on grounds of race, colour, ethnic or national origin, sex, sexual orientation, marital status, pregnancy, disability, religion or belief, age, social background or part-time status.
We're committed to an inclusive workplace...
- Our success is underpinned by the principles of equal opportunity, diversity and inclusion
- We aim to treat all employees, visitors and clients with respect, courtesy and consideration
- Employment opportunities are open and accessible to all, based on your personal abilities
We judge you on your individual qualities and merit, rather than whether you fit a certain background or type. If you are an enthusiastic and motivated individual with talent to share, join our ambitious team.
As part of your job application, you are required to complete an equal opportunity and diversity form. This helps us to monitor the effectiveness of our equality, diversity and inclusion policy but is not used as part of our selection process itself. We look forward to adding to our continually growing workplace.
