  • Design law - We’ll discuss the latest case law and how this is influencing the protection of design rights. This session will be led by Thomas Elias, a leading barrister at Serle Court.

  • Originality and artistic merit – has the UK’s approach become clearer? – We’ll look at the recent Court of Appeal guidance on originality and whether we will continue to see alignment with the EU on artistic merit.

  • The impact of AI on patents in the UK – There has been a recent surge in patent applications incorporating AI, which brings unique challenges in terms of inventorship and patent eligibility.
