Freeths Invests In Office Fit-Out Following Expansion

Estilo Interiors has recently completed the design and build refurbishment of Freeths' Birmingham office on Colmore Row.

The top 50 law firm moved to the Colmore Building in 2015 and have now taken additional space in 2019 to accommodate its expanding workforce. Freeths were advised on the acquisition by Savills in Birmingham, who also acted as Project Managers for the fit out works. The firm now occupies 15,000 sq ft in The Colmore Building enabling further growth to up to 150 people.

Freeths' brief for its space was to design 'neighbourhoods' within an open plan environment, to accommodate specialist teams. The objective was to create a workplace which will see the business into the 2020's and to provide their staff with the best possible platform to work effectively and collaboratively. As a business Freeths are embracing elements of agile working and the intention was to enhance the office experience, encourage mobility, flexibility and stimulate interaction. Estilo Interiors designed the workplace to incorporate principles of the WELL Building Standards*, combining best practice in design and construction with an emphasis on staff health and wellbeing. The refurbishment was completed within 14 weeks, with the offices remaining fully operational throughout. Noise control measures were put in place and supplemented by out-of-hours working to minimise disruption.

Estilo Interiors, based in the Jewellery Quarter, specialises in interior design, fit-out, refurbishment and furniture provision for the office and education sectors.

Established in 2003, the business turned over £15million in its last financial year and is looking to grow to £20m in 2020.
