Freeths supports national construction firm in Rochdale regeneration
Freeths Manchester Real Estate team are delighted to have supported Russell Homes in their delivery of a link road in conjunction with Rochdale Borough Council alongside the creation of residential communities either side of this new piece of infrastructure.A £370m investment boost into the Rochdale economy was triggered by the work of the Rochdale Development Agency and the Council who secured more than £40m of public funding for a series of regeneration projects through successful bids made in 2020.The secured funding unlocks six key projects across the borough with a total investment value of £370m. This will deliver 1,280 new homes, two million sq ft of commercial floor space, and 3,200 new jobs for Rochdale residents in the next three years. One of the largest projects is at South Heywood where funding was secured for a new link road to the M62 motorway meaning substantial industrial and residential development can now go ahead. The RDA and the Council have worked with the developer Russell Homes to bring forward this scheme.Stephen Lewis, partner in the Manchester Real Estate team at Freeths said, “We are delighted to have helped Russell Homes move through the gears on this project. We continue to enjoy advising Russell's in expanding their involvement in the regeneration of communities in this area and throughout the north.”
