Freeths Birmingham corporate team celebrated success last night at the Insider's Midlands Dealmakers Awards 2022.

Lee Clifford, Corporate Partner and Head of Private Equity, won corporate lawyer of the year. He was described by judges as “a lawyer that never disappoints, extremely capable on transactions and great with clients”. This was a new category to this year's awards and Lee is the first ever recipient of the award.

The good news continued with recognition for the involvement of James Dyson (banking partner) and Ateeq Ahmed (corporate director) in United Tooling Solutions' £11m triple acquisition of Mettex, Nuts & Bolts and Fast Fix which won SME deal of the year.

Commenting on the accolades, Lee Clifford said: “This is a tremendous result for the Freeths Birmingham corporate team. It is such a great pleasure to work day in day out with such a talented group of corporate lawyers who consistently deliver results for our clients. The recognition is also testament to our fantastic clients who continuously trust us to deliver for them.
