Freeths re-appointed by EM Lawshare

EM LawShare, one of the largest local authority legal consortia in England and Wales has recently named their panel. Freeths are pleased to be re-appointed as one of the 10 law firms who will continue to advise over 220 public sector bodies for the next four years.

The consortium was set up in 2006 in the East Midlands and now has 220 members across England and Wales. Local authorities make up the majority of the membership, which also includes local authority companies, police forces, fire and rescue, housing organisations and NHS trusts. The EM Lawshare Framework, valued at £70m allows this group combined buying power so it can drive down rates to improve value for money and facilitate knowledge sharing. The legal consortium also provides a range of added value services delivered by the partner firms including the annual training programme. Freeths has coordinated it for the last 8 years and will continue to do so under the new framework. Stuart Leslie, EM Lawshare Coordinator, said: “We are very pleased to once again have one of our founding partner firms, Freeths, on the new framework.” Philippa Dempster, Senior Partner at Freeths, commented: “We have been panel members from the start of the consortium 16 years ago and we are delighted to be appointed again. This is testament to the strength and depth of our Public Sector team, our range of expertise in the sector and our national service delivery where we are widely recognised as a leader in this field.”
