Welcome to the first edition of Commercial Education Brief for the new year. We hope that this is a great year for your business in spite of the many challenges you can expect to see in the coming months.
What do we discuss?
2024 will be a significant year in terms of legislation that will affect your business – particularly if it is digital. The possible impact of the Online Harms Act on businesses that provide user forums and other forms of interaction will need to be considered and we are also looking forward to reforms in digital contracts entered into with parents or young persons. If we then add in the soon to implemented procurement and data protection reforms, there will be quite a bit of change to be addressed in coming months.
This edition of Commercial Education Brief gives you a summary of the changes that are on their way as well as more detailed articles including one from Josh Day on subscription based services and requirements for more information to be provided to subscribers. We are also following an important development in the area of cloud data services which are under scrutiny at the Competition and Markets Authority. How competitive is the market for these services? We will find out in due course.
We hope you enjoy reading this edition and please share with colleagues!
