NESO's connection reform documents - guide & key points
On 5 November 2024, alongside publishing their Clean Power 2030 advice to the UK government, the National Energy System Operator (NESO) have published their draft connection reform documents for consultation. This includes NESO’s three draft methodology documents: Gate 2 Criteria Methodology, Designated Projects Methodology and Connection Network Design Methodology.
These documents are critical to underpinning the connections reform process, and a wider strategic transformation of the GB energy system. We have prepared a guide to help navigate the consultation documents, including highlighting key points (although please note this is not a substitute for full review). The consultation is open until 2 December 2024.
Our Clean Energy team advise on all aspects of clean energy projects, including industry policy, regulation and legislation. Please contact Shraiya Thapa, Clare King, Liam O'Flynn and Deborah Harvey if you have any questions or for further information.
