How to obtain an India Young Professionals Scheme visa

In May 2021, India and the UK introduced an immigration scheme that offers Indian and British young professionals to live and work in each other’s countries.

Requirements for the India Young Professionals Scheme visa

You must be an Indian citizen between the age of 18 and 30.

You have to enter and be selected from the India Young Professionals Scheme ballot before you can apply under this route.

You must have an eligible qualification at bachelor’s degree level or above or an equivalent overseas qualification at degree level or above.

You must have at least £2,530 in savings to be able to support yourself in the UK.

Length and condition of grant

If you are successful in your application, you will be granted a visa for a period of 24 months.

You must travel to the UK within 6 months of applying for your visa.

You can study in the UK with this visa.

You can work in the UK or be self-employed and set up a company.

You will not be able to extend your stay beyond the 24 months.

You will not be able to receive public funds.
