  • Negligent anaesthetic settlement

    Securing over £11.5 million, comprising of a lump sum together with yearly payments for life, for a young boy who suffered a catastrophic neurological injury due to negligent anaesthetic treatment. He suffered brain damage and visual impairment. He required 24 hour care, therapeutic support and specially adapted accommodation.

  • Brain damage due to misplacement of scalpel

    £525,000 for a gentleman in his 60s who suffered subtle brain damage due to misplacement of the scalpel during ENT surgery. He required support and assistance to continue with his employment and to engage in day to day activities.

  • Misdiagnosis by private consultant

    £100,000 for a gentleman who suffered further strokes after an initial ischaemic attack was misdiagnosed by his private consultant. The settlement was reached without any acceptance of liability.

  • Delayed treatment of meningitis

    Representing an infant who sustained severe injuries due to delayed treatment of meningitis. The claim settled for £6 million.

  • Delay in removing blood clot

    Acting for a young man who sustained brain damage due to delay in removing a blood clot on the brain. Freeths secured a settlement of £3 million.

  • Inadequate nursing care

    A newborn whose disabilities were increased as a result of inadequate nursing care. A settlement of £1 million achieved and lifelong payments for nursing care were achieved.

  • Brain damage following failures in the care

    A young woman who suffered brain damage following failures in the care that she received shortly after her birth. Settlement included a lump sum of £4 million and annual payments of £110,000 for life.

  • Brain injury following treatment for throat infection

    A man who suffered severe brain injury following treatment for a throat infection. We achieved compensation of £1.2 million.
