Ella Sheppard

Ella qualified as a solicitor in March 2019 and specialises in the provision of contentious and non-contentious employment law and HR advice to businesses and individuals across a variety of sectors including (but not limited to) hospitality, manufacturing, retail, education and care. In particular, Ella works closely with one of the UK’s biggest supermarkets.

Ella advises on the full spectrum of employment law, including disciplinary, grievance, performance and sickness-related issues, redundancy and restructures, negotiated exits and settlements and employment documentation (for example, employment contracts, service agreements and handbooks) and assists with the employment aspects of corporate transactions. Ella also supports clients in pursuing and defending employment tribunal claims and has experience in managing all aspects of litigation.

Ella prides herself on being personable, reliable and commercial in her advice and enjoys empowering clients in handling employment law and HR issues through delivering training and presenting seminars and webinars on a range of topics.

Outside of her role with Freeths, Ella sits on the Board for Generation Next (part of East Midlands Chamber) supporting in the development of more junior professionals in the region, and won the Customer Service award at the 2023 Generation Next Awards in recognition of her commitment to excellent client service and passion for the work that she does.
