About Emily
Emily’s focus is on housebuilder and development work and she acts for a variety of housebuilders, developers, registered providers, landowners and care home operators, on both a regional and national scale.
Emily is experienced in all types of residential development transactions, including longer term strategic and immediate acquisitions, overage, affordable housing and bulk disposal/acquisition arrangements and site assembly, as well as a wide range of acquisition and development funding arrangements.
Her experience covers an extensive range of development, leasing, investment and funding projects and she has significant experience in complex regeneration, joint ventures and Homes England led schemes.

Notable work & expertise
- Acting for a major housebuilder on a complex mixed use development of a Homes England multi phase scheme to comprise c.750 residential dwellings, a school, community areas and a local centre, with an anticipated GDV of over £200M.
- Acting for a major housebuilder on a wide range of portfolio wide joint venture arrangements with registered providers, including both Homes England and commercial funding arrangements.
- Acting for a care home developer client in relation to a portfolio wide restructure and refinance of 15+ development sites, with senior funding of c.£80M and mezzanine funding of c. £45M.
- Acting for a major housebuilder on the acquisition of the second phase of the canal village development scheme at Hawkesbury, including various wider community uses as well as affordable and open market housing.
- Acting for a major housebuilder in relation to a national portfolio framework agreement with an affordable housing provider of c.300 units across c.20 development sites on a conditional basis.
- Acting for both housebuilders and registered providers of social housing on a variety of golden brick and turnkey contracts, including real estate elements of related funding.
- Emily previously spent a year in-house working in the Group Legal team of a national housebuilder client and consequently has outstanding in-depth knowledge of how housebuilders operate and what is important to them.
