Matt Collingwood-Cooper

Matt qualified in 2001 as a solicitor and has since specialised in construction and engineering law, providing dispute avoidance and advice to manage project risks.

Matt advises on the wide range of dispute resolution procedures (ADR, mediation, adjudication, arbitration and litigation) as well as providing general contractual advice and also delivering bespoke client training sessions.  He is familiar with the industry standard forms of contract (e.g. JCT, ICC, FIDIC, NEC) as well as PFI and bespoke forms of agreement.

He has considerable experience of complex and high value construction and engineering disputes including advising on defects, final account/payment disputes, delay, insolvency and termination claims.  He has acted on a vast variety of construction and engineering matters both in the UK and internationally.

Matt works across various sectors, including utilities, PFI, healthcare and education. Over several years he has specialised in the water sector, acting for utility companies, providing project advice and successfully defending NEC framework contract disputes.
