Six-year solicitor apprenticeship for school leavers

Our six-year solicitor apprenticeship is an exciting opportunity for school leavers to qualify as a lawyer straight after completing their A-levels, with vacancies available in 2025 in Bristol, Birmingham, Leeds, and Oxford.

How the solicitor apprenticeship works

Starting in September, after receiving your A-level results, you'll become a valued member of our team, working alongside talented lawyers across the firm on a variety of legal tasks. As you progress, the work becomes more dynamic, offering you real-world experience and growing responsibility.

As a trainee solicitor apprentice, you will:

Spend four days a week gaining hands-on experience with expert guidance from your department and one day a week studying with the University of Law
Earn a degree-level qualification through the apprenticeship programme
Prepare for and successfully complete your Solicitor Qualifying Exams (SQE 1 and 2)
Gain the necessary qualifying work experience to ensure you’re ready to thrive as a solicitor.

Upon completing your apprenticeship and passing the SQE, you’ll be fully qualified and ready to embark on an exciting career as a solicitor.

This year, National Apprenticeship Week has been running from 10-16 February.

The week aims to raise awareness of the many benefits apprenticeships can offer people, and it highlights the valuable role apprenticeships play in shaping local workforces and the opportunities they bring for both young people and adults.

During the week, businesses and apprentices across the UK shine a light on the positive impact being made by workplace apprenticeships.

Apprenticeship opportunities

This year, we have apprenticeship opportunities in our offices in Bristol, Birmingham, Leeds and Oxford.

Applications will be live from 1 October 2024. If successful, you would join the firm in September 2025. We ask for a minimum of three Bs at A-level.
